Cathy Malloy, chief executive officer of the Greater Hartford Arts Council and wife of Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy, will talk to the students about the value of art in society. Welcoming remarks will be by Hartford Art School Dean Nancy Stuart. The Scholastic Art Awards and Exhibition is an annual event in which high school and middle school students from around the state enter their artwork and portfolios.

Thomas Pasatieri's Hotel Casablanca
The Vocal Studies Division is honored to welcome renowned composer Thomas Pasatieri, one of America's most respected and performed vocal and opera composers, as well as one of Hollywood's most successful film orchestrators. The Hotel Casablanca is a comic tale of love, guns, and mistaken identity deep in the heart of 1940s Texas. One critic recently wrote that Casablanca has just enough opera majesty to satiate grand opera adherents and enough silliness to keep the audiences entertained. The New England premiere is conducted by Doris Lang Kosloff and directed by Ron Luchsinger.
